Holiday Drive Wrap-Up: The Dougy Center
Over the course of the holiday season, Daylight collected toys and art supplies for The Dougy Center in our holiday drive. For those of you that are unfamiliar with The Dougy Center, it is a national organization that provides resources and support to grieving children and families. The holidays can be an incredibly difficult time when you have lost a loved one, and it’s only that much harder as a child when you can’t fully understand what has happened or don’t yet know how to process your emotions.
Your Contributions Make A Difference
Among a wide array of services offered by The Dougy Center, come holiday season, they provide each and every child in their care with a stuffed animal to help provide comfort through this difficult time. Throughout the year they also supply children with art supplies as a means to help them understand and cope with their grief through art.
Nonprofits such as The Dougy Center depend on the generosity of donors to carry out the invaluable support that so many benefit from all year-round. To assist with our holiday efforts, we looped in some friends in our building: Beam, Thread Creative, and Paper Moon Creative, who were all extremely generous with their time and helped to make this drive a smashing success.
Proud Partners
With many of us at Daylight being parents ourselves, our work with The Dougy Center feels particularly impactful. Daylight is proud to have been able to support them in their efforts and we look forward to continuing to partner with them in the future.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our drive. If you are interested in learning more about The Dougy Center and how you can help, you can check out their podcast, Grief Out Loud, donate, or even purchase a raffle ticket to enter to win a Porsche.
