Movember 2015

Movember 2015

I grew my first beard over ten years ago. After experiencing the benefits of an extra layer of warmth on a morning bike ride, minimal upkeep, and having something to do while thinking, I couldn’t imagine going back. I’ve had a beard ever since.

This year I put this luxury aside for a greater cause. I joined the Daylight Movember team in our fourth year of growing staches and raising money for men’s health.

Movember is one of the few opportunities to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. What started 11 years ago as a dare between co-founder Adam Garone and a few friends has now raised over $650 million for men’s health since 2003, making it the largest funder of prostate cancer research in the world. The Movember Foundation today raises money not only for prostate cancer, but also testicular cancer research, poor mental health, and physical inactivity.

As for the results, Dan stayed strong and held onto his mustache into January winning him the longest stache award. Dave raised the most funds individually, coming in at $205. As a team, this year Daylight raised $526. Thank you to all who supported us and especially to our partners and families for putting up with all the mustaches.
